The Internet's Own Boy

Hacktivism is a new term describing the use of technology in order to promote social or political change. There is one man that comes to mind when I hear the word ‘hacktivism’ and that man is Aaron Swartz. He is a man who, in his own words said “I Don’t want to be happy. I just want to change the world”. He did change the world although not to the extent that he would have liked. Aaron Swartz’s work related to the development of the RSS web feed algorithm is what is used by almost every website in order to display your newsfeed, even the one on this very blog.
